How the ParishConnect admin portal and mobile app collect, use, and protect personal information. Last updated 22 August 2026.

Who we are

ParishConnect provides parish management software to dioceses, parishes, and wards. Each parish decides what member information is recorded and who may see it; ParishConnect operates the platform and processes that information on the parish's instructions.

Questions, access requests, or complaints: support@parishconnect.app.

Information we collect

  • Member and household details — name, email address, phone number with country code, date of birth, address, household and ward membership, profile photo, and other fields your parish chooses to maintain.
  • Account and sign-in data — email addresses used for one-time codes, and sign-in timestamps.
  • Device registration data — device model and platform, app version, push notification token, registration method, and approximate location where the device provides it during registration.
  • Activity and diagnostic logs — API and web requests, request identifiers, IP address, error traces, and audit records of changes made to parish data.
  • Contributions and payments — donation and payment records entered by the parish, including amounts, categories, and dates.
  • Content you send us — contact form messages, support requests, and demo enquiries.

How we use it

  • Run the parish directory, household profiles, and member self-service updates.
  • Deliver parish notifications, announcements, and daily Bible verse subscriptions.
  • Register and authenticate devices, and keep you signed in on trusted devices.
  • Maintain parish contribution and payment records.
  • Keep the service secure: abuse prevention, audit trails, and error diagnostics.
  • Respond to contact, support, and account deletion requests.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or ad profiling.

Who can see your information

Inside the app, member contact details are shown to other members of your parish only when the visibility settings on your record allow it. Household heads, parish officials, and parish administrators see more, according to the role your parish assigns them.

We share data with service providers strictly to operate the platform:

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivery of push notifications.
  • Our transactional email provider — one-time codes and service emails.
  • Our cloud hosting and database provider — application hosting and data storage.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the parish.

Retention and deletion

Your app account, device registrations, and push tokens are deleted when you ask us to. Submit a request at parishconnect.app/account/delete-request — you verify your email address with a one-time code, and we complete deletion within 30 days.

Parish record-keeping is separate: sacramental registers, financial and donation receipts, and similar parish records stay with the parish for as long as the parish and applicable law require, even after your app account is removed. Diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.

Your choices

  • Update your own details in the app; some changes are reviewed by parish staff.
  • Control who sees your contact details through your visibility settings.
  • Turn notification categories on or off, including daily verses.
  • Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any message we send.
  • Request deletion of your account, or ask us for a copy of your data by email.

Security

Access to parish data is restricted by role, protected by database-level access rules, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit trail. No system can be guaranteed free from risk, so please report anything that looks wrong to support@parishconnect.app.

Children

The app is intended for parish members. Records of minors are entered and managed by their household head or parish staff, who are responsible for the information they provide. A household head can request removal of a minor's record at any time.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change, and we revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes are announced in the app or by email.
